Driving Licence Requirements
To rent and ride a Vespa in Zakynthos, all drivers must have previous riding experience and hold a valid motorcycle driving licence that allows them to legally operate the scooter model they choose.
If you are not experienced riding with a passenger, we strongly advise against practising for the first time during your holiday.
Vespa 125cc (Primavera)
You can rent a 125cc Vespa if:
• You are at least 21 years old
• You hold a valid motorcycle licence for at least 2 years
• Accepted licence categories: A, A1 or A2
• Your licence does not include motorcycle restriction codes (such as 79.xx or moped-only restrictions)
If your licence was issued outside the EU, an International Driving Permit (IDP) may be required together with your national licence.
Vespa 300cc (GTS models)
You can rent a 300cc Vespa if:
• You are at least 25 years old
• You hold a full motorcycle licence for at least 2 years
• Accepted licence categories: A or A2
• Your licence does not include motorcycle restriction codes
These models are more powerful and are recommended for experienced riders.
EU, UK & Non-EU Licences
EU and UK driving licences are accepted if the correct motorcycle category is clearly shown. No International Driving Permit is required.
For licences issued outside the EU, a valid motorcycle licence is required and, in many cases, an International Driving Permit (IDP) must also be presented together with the national licence.
If you are unsure, you can send us a photo of your licence on WhatsApp and we will confirm eligibility before booking.
Documents required at pickup
• Original driving licence
• Passport or ID
• Credit or debit card for the security deposit (if applicable)
Provisional or learner licences are not accepted.
In short
• You only need ONE valid motorcycle licence
• The licence must match the Vespa engine size
• EU/UK licences are usually accepted directly
• Non-EU licences may require an IDP
